A sad update....

It's not AS bad as the title sounds...

not only did my 1 terabyte external hard-drive bite the proverbial dust (which basically housed all of my pictures and videos for the last, uh I dunno, 11 years) but my trusty Dell laptop's (cracked case and all) hard-drive tanked out too (which btw, housed the pictures that I couldn't put on my terabyte drive after it died...so there goes all my most recent pictures and videos UHG!!!!!!!)

So what do I learn from this? Go back to using FILM cameras? Let me tell you I totally considered it. This is ridiculous. The only redeeming factor - is that with my awesome phoney (HTC EVO) I took more pictures with that than my regular awesome camera.

Now, if I had been uploading and updating this blog regularly, I wouldn't have had such a melt-down but alas, time and unforeseen occurrences befall me all the time (is that the way it goes?? if not, it should.)

So super-hubbie got me a lenovo laptop- mostly because in a home with a computer geek, there is not ONE computer working after my laptop died. It is not as if we don't have computers, oh we do, in fact if you were here right now, you could find 7 hidden in my little living room. But they are all in stages of "not working" ....not broken, just not working. Is there a difference? To me, no. To hot computer geek hubbie - why, yes of course. (Thank goodness he's hot...because those lame explanations are softened by the twinkle in those gorgeous blue eyes of his)

SIGH

So yea, my new computer, it's um, nice. the screen is freakily wide, which I personally haven't gotten used to and am not exactly sure if I like it. But, it does work, and it is fast, and I can play Sims3 on it (which I have been) and, for once, I am backing up the information onto another external hard-drive that sometimes works and sometimes doesn't. Oh the joy of the unknown.

So regarding the "Sad Update" - it's the fact that I didn't backup anything and didn't pursue it, so now the sad thing is that DATA RECOVERY - dear lord..how much is that going to cost us?

There is a difference between "not working" and "broken." You can usually fix the former; the latter... has a less hopeful prospect. ;)

There are somethings that I like to do other than shopping - taking pictures. The beauty of picture taking is that it really is all up to me. Sometimes it's of things and other times it's of me and friends. Old Friends, New Friends and a sprinkling of family for good measure...
